Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers
Armstrong Chemtec’s continuous scraped surface heat exchangers are widely applied in cooling crystallization and viscous cooling processes. In operation, the process fluid is cooled along the inner pipe wall while coolant circulates through the annular space between the inner and outer pipes. Rotating blades within the inner pipe continuously mix the process fluid and prevent deposits from forming on the pipe surface. Designed for seamless scale-up, these exchangers transition efficiently from pilot testing to full commercial production. Armstrong Chemtec also offers pilot scraped surface heat exchangers available for rental or hire.
